Q - What is changing?

A - Narragansett Bay Commission is migrating from our current billing and payment vendor to a leading provider within billing and payments. With this update comes a host of expanded payment options to help simplify and speed your bill payment and management capabilities.

Q - What payment methods and payment options are available?

A - The new payment system will feature a host of modern payment options including:

  • Digital wallets – PayPal, PayPal Credit, Venmo, Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • All major credit cards – Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express
  • In-store retail bill payments – Yes, you can now pay your NBC bill at local retail stores:
    • Walmart Bill Pay (WMPB) – Visit any Walmart customer service desk to pay your bill using cash, debit and UcardsTM. Fees apply.
    • $Cash – Within the new NBC customer portal, select $Cash as your preferred payment option to receive a unique barcode for in-store payments at CVS and Walgreens.
  • AutoPay – You can enroll in AutoPay through the new NBC customer portal to automatically have your NBC bill paid on-time each month.

Q - When will the new system be implemented?

A - The scheduled go-live date for the new billing and payment system is October 2024. NBC will share updates as we get closer to this date.

Q - How soon can I register for AutoPay?

A - AutoPay enrollment will be immediately available once the new billing and payment system is live. All customers will need to enroll or re-enroll in AutoPay should they wish to use this payment feature. Pre-Enrollment within one week of go live…

Q - How soon can I sign up for eBill?

A - Customers can enroll in paperless billing (eBills) immediately once the new billing and payment system is live. If you are currently a paperless billing customer, you will need to re-sign up.

Q - If I am a pre-existing user of the former online payment system, will I need to re-register?

A - Yes, all users must enroll in the new NBC customer portal to take advantage of the portal. One-time guest pay is still available without having to register the account.

Q - How do I register my account?

A - All customers will need to register their accounts to use the new NBC customer portal. To register, visit the NBC customer portal and select the “Register Now” option. Here you will be asked to provide an email address and create a password to create your profile. Once enrolled, click “Accounts,” and follow the prompts to add your account. You will need your Customer-account number to register your account.

Q - Will there be an interruption of online NBC bill payment services during the update?

A - We do not anticipate any interruption of payment services.

Q - If I am a pre-existing user of the former online payment system, will I need to re-register?

A - Yes, all users must enroll in the new NBC customer portal to take advantage of the portal. One-time guest pay is still available without having to register an account.

A - Any customer who was registered in the former online payment system will receive an email closer to the go-live date providing them a link to change their password. The link will route you to the new online payment portal where you follow the prompts to become re-registered.

Q - Can I set up AutoPay from the one-time pay portal?

A - No, AutoPay enrollment is only available through the NBC customer portal.

Q - How do I read my bill?

A - There is a sample of how to read your bill at narrabay.com.

Q - Will I still receive a paper copy of my bill?

A - Yes, unless you have selected to go paperless, you will continue to receive a paper copy of your bill.

Q - What payment types are subject to the fee?

A - All in-store retail bill payments made at Walmart, CVS and Walgreens will incur a convenience fee.

Q - Are there payment options available that do not incur a fee?

A - Only in-store retail bill payments will incur a fee. All other payment options are free to use.
