Take a tour of one of the country's best-operated and maintained wastewater treatment facilities, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. The Field's Point facility, in Providence, is one of the country's oldest and the state's largest wastewater treatment facility. Or visit the state's second largest facility in East Providence, the  Bucklin Point Wastewater Treatment Facility. At both facilities visitors will learn how their community's wastewater is processed, cleaned and returned to Narragansett Bay. Visitors will understand how wastewater treatment is a vital link in the overall water quality chain that we depend on.
