Water Clarity

​Water clarity was measured at eight locations in the Providence River and Seekonk River estuaries on May 24. Rainfall totaling 3.04 inches was recorded at TF Green in the five days prior to the survey, most of which occurred on May 20. Secchi depth averaged 1.3 meters, compared to 2.0 meters on the previous survey (May 18). The lowest clarity this week (0.9 meters) was measured at Pomham Rocks and Edgewood Yacht Club while the greatest clarity (1.7 meters) was measured at Bullock Reach and Point St. Bridge. There was a general north-to-south gradient of increasing water clarity among the sites this week.​

Water clarity was measured at seven locations in the Providence River and Seekonk River estuaries on May 18. There was no precipitation recorded at TF Green in the five days prior to the survey. Secchi depth averaged 2.0 meters, compared to 1.9 meters on the previous survey (May 10). The lowest clarity this week (1.4 meters) was measured at Pawtuxet Cove while the greatest clarity (2.6 meters) was measured at Phillipsdale Landing and India Point Park. There was no clear north-to-south gradient in water clarity among the sites this week.​

Water clarity was measured at seven locations in the Providence River and Seekonk River estuaries on May 10. Rainfall totaling 0.17 inches was recorded at TF Green in the five days prior to the survey. Secchi depth averaged 1.9 meters, compared to 1.4 meters on the previous survey (May 3). The lowest clarity this week (1.5 meters) was measured at Bullock Reach while the greatest clarity (2.1 meters) was measured at Conimicut Point, India Point Park, and Point St. Bridge. There was a general north-to-south gradient of decreasing water clarity among the sites this week.​

Rainfall totaling 3.64 inches was recorded at TF Green in the five days prior to the survey. Secchi depth averaged 1.4 meters, compared to 2.5 meters on the previous survey (April 19). The lowest clarity this week (0.9 meters) was measured at India Point Park while the greatest clarity (1.7 meters) was measured at Pomham Rocks and Pawtuxet Cove. There was a general north-to-south gradient of increasing water clarity among the sites this week.​

The lowest clarity this week (1.6 meters) was measured at Phillipsdale Landing and Pawtuxet Cove while the greatest clarity (3.4 meters) was measured at Bullock Reach. There was no clear north-to-south gradient in water clarity among the sites this week.​

Secchi depth averaged 3.0 meters, compared to 2.1 meters on the previous survey (April 5). The lowest clarity this week (2.0 meters) was measured at Phillipsdale Landing while the greatest clarity (3.3 meters) was measured at Pomham Rocks and Point St. Bridge. There was no clear north-to-south gradient in water clarity among the sites this week.​

The lowest clarity this week (1.6 meters) was measured at Pomham Rocks while the greatest clarity (2.4 meters) was measured at Edgewood Shoal. There was a general north-to-south gradient of increasing water clarity among the sites this week.​

Rainfall totaling 0.74 inches was recorded at TF Green in the five days prior to the survey. Secchi depth averaged 3.2 meters, compared to 2.2 meters on the previous survey (March 22). The lowest clarity this week (2.7 meters) was measured at India Point Park, while the greatest clarity (3.7 meters) was measured at Point St. Bridge. There was a general north-to-south gradient of increasing water clarity among the sites this week.​

Rainfall totaling 0.20 inches was recorded at TF Green in the five days prior to the survey. Secchi depth averaged 2.2 meters, compared to 1.6 meters on the previous survey (March 22). The lowest clarity this week (1.2 meters) was measured at Pawtuxet Cove, while the greatest clarity (2.6 meters) was measured at Bullock Reach, Conimicut Point, and Phillipsdale Landing. There was a general north-to-south gradient of increasing water clarity among the sites this week.​
