Wind Turbine Update
Monday August 27th 2012 – Electrical transformers for the Narragansett Bay Commission’s three 1.5 MW wind turbines are delivered to Field’s Point. The three transformers, to be installed in early September, will convert the electricity generated by the wind turbines to a voltage usable at the Field’s Point Wastewater Treatment Facility and during high winds exportable to the local grid. These are some of the final pieces of equipment needed to make the wind turbines fully operational.
