Responsibilites:
Collects, monitors, and transports water, wastewater, and other samples from various remote locations and sites. Prepares and enters sample and testing data and develops basic or standard reports. Installs, maintains, and removes samplers and monitoring equipment in a variety of locations, such as wastewater treatment facilities, manholes, rivers, bays, off-site or industrial sites. Prepares and tests samples and analyzes and records results. Maintains and calibrates equipment, tools, and sophisticated monitoring devices used in the drawing, monitoring, and testing of samples. Assists other departments or contractors in collecting and analyzing samples. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Position requires additional weekend hours at rate of approximately two (2) days per month, four (4) hours per day at overtime rate of pay. Skill in operating a boat is a plus.
Education - Experience:
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma, or G. E. D., and two years of environmental sampling experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: At the time of hire, must possess and maintain as a condition of employment a valid driver’s license.
